About Winters Farm Florals

Blossoming Where Planted:
Our Farm’s Continuing Journey

Discover how we’re nurturing a legacy of sustainable farming and cultivating dreams on the Eastern Shore—one no-till field at a time.

Growing up on the farm

I grew up barefoot and windblown on our 110-acre farm on the Eastern Shore, where our nearest neighbors were a half mile away and our idea of fun was playing “wilderness” in the fields and woods for hours at a time. My dad, a first-generation farmer, built our farm from the ground up, instilling in us a deep appreciation for Mother Nature. The farm grounded me as much as the crops that it bore, and my roots ran as deep as the trees.

Yet, as often happens to our youthful selves, the need to wander tugged at my curiosity. I left my little slice of paradise in search of education, travel, big dreams, and new experiences. I did all of those things, some a few times over, and yet the farther and wider I traveled, the happier I was to return to the Shore. Happiness really can be found in your own backyard, and after twelve years away, I returned home.

Planting new roots

In the fall of 2019, I embarked on a new adventure – growing flowers. Working alongside my dad at our family farm in Kennedyville, I began preparing for my first spring bloom in 2020.

This arrangement allowed me to learn from my father’s decades of experience while taking my first steps into agriculture. My dad, one of the earliest no-till farmers on the Shore, has been implementing soil health-conscious practices for over 40 years.

As I started my floral journey, I incorporated many of the sustainable practices I learned from him, sharing his passion for soil health.

Blooming with purpose

Each year, as my floral business grew, so did my commitment to it. By 2021, it became clear that I needed to make a decision about my future in agriculture. Embracing the challenge, I decided to fully dedicate myself to my budding floral enterprise.

In 2022, I took a significant step – moving my flower operation from my humble roots on my parents’ farm in Kennedyville to permanent land near my own home in Salisbury. This move allowed me to devote the time and energy necessary to nurture my business.

Rooted in tradition

Today, our farm has blossomed into more than just crops. Drawing inspiration from the wild beauty that surrounded me as a child and the sustainable practices I learned from my father, I’ve created a floral business that honors both tradition and innovation. From seasonal bouquets to full-service wedding arrangements, we bring the charm of the Eastern Shore to life through flowers, all while maintaining a deep respect for the land that nurtures them.

My father continues to be a huge mentor, guiding me with his wisdom and experience as I forge my own path in the world of flowers.

Welcome to the farm.

I am thrilled to have you along for this continuing journey, as we grow, learn, and blossom together.
